GUIDE FOR AUTHORS

INTRODUCTION

All scientific research papers, review articles and short communications of all branches of science and technology including Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering, Business Administration and Management etc. will be considered for publication in this journal.

EDITORIAL POLICIES

General Policies

Manuscripts submitted to the journal should be an original one and must not have been concurrently submitted to any other journals for publication.

Copyright

The copyright of the published article will be transferred to the Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh.

Manuscript submission

 The manuscript needs to be submitted through online submission system (http://www.ejmanager.com/my/jpstu). Please follow the instructions for step by step submission of your manuscript. If you face any problem, please contact with the editorial office.

Review procedure

After submission of a manuscript, it will be first checked by the editorial team members whether the journal guidelines were followed and it passed through similarity index of less than 20%. Next, the manuscript will be evaluated by two competent reviewers following a double blind review process. Authors are encouraged to provide the names of three potential reviewers. After review, one of the associate editor will provide a decision on the submission. If revisions are suggested, the authors need to provide a rebuttal to the reviews’ comments while a fresh and track-changed version need to be submitted.  If the manuscript is rejected at any stage of the review process, the authors can appeal to the editor in chief for reconsideration of the manuscript with explaining why they disagree with the decision.

 PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPT

Format

The manuscript should be typed in Times New Roman font and size is 12 (twelve) in double-space with margins of at least 2.5 cm at top, bottom and both sides on paper while a continuous number for all lines throughout the manuscript should be used. A manuscript should be organized as follows-

  1. A cover letter- Please write why and how your manuscript is novel and important for our readers.
  2. Title page- title of the study with contributors and their affiliations. Please include the email address and ORCID ID (if available) of the corresponding authors.
  3. The manuscript-   Please include all your tables and figures separately.

Full Length Paper

A full length manuscript except review article and short communications should contain the following parts:

Title: The title of the paper should be brief but should reflect the content of the work. Include the name of the organism used if appropriate. Use the common names of plants except for little-known species and weeds. The first letter of all words should capitalize except articles, prepositions and conjunctions.

Abstract: The abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory. It should be written as one paragraph with not exceeding 250 words. The abstract should clearly represent the rationale of the study with its objectives, materials and techniques used, results and conclusions. Paragraphs, footnotes, references, cross-references to figures and tables and undefined abbreviations should be avoided. Acronyms should be avoided if possible.

Key words: Five or less than five key words should be included after the abstract. However, these keywords cannot be same of the title of the study while they should be arranged alphabetically.  

Introduction: The introduction should state clearly the rationale for conducting the research stating the problem, justifying the research and the findings of earlier research and the objectives of the study.

Materials and Methods/Methodology: Materials and methods should be sufficiently described in the manuscript so that the work may be evaluated or repeated by other researchers. Established procedures and tests should not be described in detail but can be referred with appropriate citations. Chemical procedures that are referenced should include a brief statement of the basic principles of the method.

Results and Discussion: Results and Discussion may be presented as separate sections or can be combined under one heading. However, separate presentation of results and discussion is preferable. The authors should explain their findings in the Discussion section with attribution of the possible mechanisms. The discussion should be supported with relate previous finding.

Conclusion: In conclusions, authors should summarize their major findings and state inferences of these results in studied field. Please be aware that conclusions should be presented as a standalone section so that readers do not need to go through other sections.

Acknowledgements (if any): The authors may acknowledge the contribution of other persons and organization.  

Declaration of funding: The authors should clearly declare if they have received any funding from an organization. Please include the fund number.

Declaration of conflict of interest: Authors are requested to declare conflict of interests (if any).

References:

The journal uses the name-and-year system (Harvard system) in which the author's(s') name(s) followed by the year of publication is cited in the text. For instance, in text citation should be made as (Rahman, 2020) or (Abdul et al., 2020; Rahman et al. 2020) at the end of any statement while Rahman (2020) or Abdul et al. (2020) format should be used when citations are included as a part of the sentence.

The reference list

References should be listed in the "Reference" section alphabetically then chronologically if all authors are the same. Few examples are given below-

Tables and Figures

Tables accompanied by titles should be included at the end of the manuscript. Figures should be saved uploaded in JPSTU submission system as separated image files (JPEG, PNG or TIFF). However, the captions of the figures should be inserted in the manuscript as a ‘list of figures’. If a figure has more than one part [e.g. (a), (b)…so on], they should be joined and saved as a single file. JPSTU only receives images of ≥300 dpi resolution.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Chemical formula, time, and units should be used following standard international (SI) systems.

Article Processing Charge: For publication of the accepted article, the author(s) need to pay Tk. 2000.00 (for inland) and USD 30 (for overseas). The author(s) will be requested to pay the article processing charge (APC) after the acceptance of the manuscript.

Payment Method
Online Banking as per direction by the editorial office.

Proof and Reprints: For final correction as Author’s Proof of the article (in PDF) will be sent to the corresponding author. The corrected copy of the article should submit through online within 72 hours from the receipt. Only author(s) names, affiliation(s), typing mistakes and grammatical error are allowed to correct during proofreading. Addition or deletion of author name(s), and insertion or deletion of large portion of text is not permitted during this stage. The authors will get a copy of the journal issue free of charge. Additional copies of journals or reprints of the published article may be purchased by order when sending back the proof.
